Tree Cake Pops!

I celebrated Andy and Laura's marriage through cake-pop in honor of their wedding theme, the Aspen Tree.

How does an Aspen tree turn into a cake pop?

Based on the wedding colors I had gray cake pops decorated with bright green leaves. Also I decided to toss in a couple bright pops sprinkled with red, pink and white mini-hearts.

Here are the finished trees.

I made the leaves by coating real aspen leaves with candy melts dyed to a green color. (Thanks to my sisters who help hunt down the Aspen trees in my area.) Once the coating was hard and dry, I peeled the leaves from the coating and wah lah!

I was amazed how well the candy coating picked up the features of the leaves. I think they turned out wonderfully :)

The actual trees were purchased from a craft store. I had planned on making my own, but how could I pass up a perfect pre-made foam tree?

Here are a few more pictures, enjoy!

Thanks to Linda and Melissa for the help and added inspiration :)
