Cake Pops

My very first attempt at cake pops, Turkeys! I made them for my company Thanksgiving pot-luck. (2010)

For the filling, I chose spice cake with cream cheese frosting and then dipped them in chocolate. The were a big hit!

Since the Thanksgiving pops went so well I decided to make some Christmas pops for my family. Reindeer sounded fun...

I couldn't find letter pretzels (like Bakerella) for the antlers so i carefully broke apart Christmas bells. They turned out pretty good, but I did have a lot of pretzels scraps to eat :)

When Easter 2011 rolled around I couldn't resist making cute little yellow chicks. I also threw in some fun Easter eggs.

I placed the pops in Easter baskets to give to people. I thought they turned out really well, and I enjoyed shopping for cute baskets.

I made two flavors of cake pops this time. Chocolate with chocolate frosting (very rich!) and strawberry chocolate-chip cake with cream cheese frosting - perfect for the person with a sweet tooth.

I went out on my own for the forth of July and imagined fire-crackers and Uncle Sam hats.

One year later (2011) I made some more Thanksgiving cake pops...pumpkins and Pilgrim hats!

I used German chocolate cake and cream cheese frosting - my favorite so far I think!

Christmas Pops (2011)

Here are some more winter cake pops from 2011. They are little penguins with earmuffs and hats!

Getting the chocolate just right to keep the licorice head band on was the trickiest part.

I used candy cane Hershey kisses for the hats.

New Year's Pops (2013)

Thanks to my friend Megan for being coming over and helping out!

A small gift basket of pop for my co-worker Dan and his wife. I hope he enjoyed the champagne bottle pop because it wasn't that easy to make!

I made some Owls for a 2013 SVC Fundraiser.
The hardest part was finding candy necklaces for the eyes!

Here are some Golden Snitch Pops for an fun Harry Potter party!
The wings were a test of patience...ugh...

After dipping the pops in chocolate and letting them cool, I then piped chocolate on the pop in fun swirls and decorations...

This is my second batch of wings...as the first made of chocolate were not tempered properly. So I used candy melts which harden nicely but were very brittle!

Outside and ready to fly...

I glad I made a small batch or I would have never had enough wings.
